GPI (Industrial Plastics Management) Certification
Decree No. 2021-461 of 16 April 2021
Following the audit carried out by AFNOR Certification, Prodex complies with the relevant requirements:
- To comply with the regulatory requirements of the Decree of 16 April 2021
- To have one’s GPI loss prevention programme recognised by an external body
- Managing the risks of accidental environmental pollution
- Managing the risks associated with the costs of raw material losses
- To help improve its environmental performance indicators
In-house recycling of elastomers
Prodex operates an in-house recycling system for its offcuts of profiles and elastomeric seals, using a high-performance shredder. This approach not only reduces waste but also recycles the materials, giving them a new lease of life within the production process.
Prodex also ensures rigorous traceability of its raw materials and scrap, thereby guaranteeing complete transparency and exemplary quality control.
Thanks to its closed-loop production process, Prodex optimises water usage, enabling it to achieve extremely low consumption levels.
This innovative system promotes the reuse of water, particularly by reducing the amount drawn from natural resources and minimising discharges.
This approach is part of Prodex’s commitment to combining industrial performance with respect for the environment.
New low-carbon elastomer material
Prodex is constantly monitoring technological developments to identify new, more sustainable elastomeric materials.
It has approved a new supplier, Elastever, which manufactures thermoplastic elastomers by incorporating an unrivalled proportion of recycled tyres.
The carbon footprint of these raw materials is therefore very low: tyre waste is transformed into a resource for developing thermoplastics that can be recycled indefinitely.
Since 2024, Prodex has been supporting Alexis Thomas’s project with the Wings of the Ocean charity, as part of an offshore racing programme on the Figaro circuit.
Wings of the Ocean is a French charity that campaigns against plastic pollution and litter. It works on the ground through litter collection drives, awareness-raising and educational initiatives to reduce plastic use and protect the ocean, as well as citizen science projects.
This partnership forms part of Prodex’s commitment to supporting a proactive initiative, in line with its approach to assessing the impact of its own activities. This includes, in particular, the development of 100 per cent recyclable elastomeric seals to reduce its plastic footprint, and practical measures to help protect the oceans.
